Cat's Story or Bio
B'Elanna, nee Bonita, was brought into a vet's office by a good Samaritan who found her living as a stray when she was under a year old. Her growth had been stunted because, like many strays, she had fallen pregnant young. Rather than surrender Bonita to a local shelter, a kind worker at the vet's office--Joe--brought her to his home, where he fostered many cats (and still does to this day). About four years later, Joe was working at a graduate school caring for lab animals where he met a student, Melissa, who was looking for a new cat.

Melissa was introduced to many of Joe's foster cats, but Bonita was the first one she met; the minute Melissa sat down, Bonita climbed into her lap and purred. Melissa, having fallen head over heels, adopted Bonita. Upon seeing the cat's tortietude, Melissa renamed her B'Elanna Tortie after B'Elanna Torres of Star Trek: Voyager. B'Elanna's name was changed again after Melissa realized that B'Elanna's stunning markings make her not a tortie but a torbico.

B'Elanna has been with her meowmy Melissa for over three years. Melissa and B'Elanna currently live with Melissa's parents and brother, and B'Elanna is adored by the whole family.
