Cat's Story or Bio
He was a very friendly neighborhood cat who I met when I moved into the area. He greeted me when I came home and would warm himself on the hood of my truck. At other times, he would follow me as I worked outside around the house. He was aggressively affectionate and would purr loudly as I pet him responding with enthusiastic head butts and body rubs.
Even though he appreciated the food that I gave him, what he really wanted was to sit in my lap and fall asleep. This was a challenge as he was a kneader and, being an outdoor cat, his claws were razor sharp. I gradually allowed him to come into the house for short visits.
In the spring of 2013 he received a bite wound and was taken to the local animal shelter by others for treatment. While there he tested positive for FIV and was euthanized for being “unadoptable”.
As I look upon the welcome mat on my porch where he used to sleep, where a few hairs of his fur still remain, I say in my sorrow for not having the courage to adopt him when I could have, don't assume you will have more time. Get involved and help those who need it.
