Pet's Story
I came home from Alaska mid-summer for surgery, and walked in to AVHS to see a friend. Champ was in the window room and lifted his big head as soon as I walked in; one look from those chocolate eyes and that was it.
Champ jumped in my truck two weeks later and we drove back to Alaska, where we spent the rest of the year playing in the salt waters of the Inside Passage (see photo) and watching the snow settle in the mountains. He's my ski partner on backcountry powder days, my seagull-chasing compatriot, and the best office dog anyone could ask for. He's living a good life, and I'm just happy to be his human.
