Pet's Story
Hank was adopted in 2011 from a shelter as part of a "Home For The Holidays" program. Already a senior dog when adopted, he is now close to 17 years old and is enjoying his retirement in sunny Salida. Hank enjoys finding spots of warm sunshine and lying there for hours, as well as burying himself deep in anything soft such as the laundry basket or bedding. Although his hearing is not quite what it used to be, Hank can still hear the sound of a treat bag or food can being opened from anywhere in the house and quickly comes running to investigate. Hank makes soft, dove - like cooing noises to let you know he is happy while you scratch his head or ears. My favorite thing about Hank is his "Snoopy Happy Dance" that he does by joyfully wiggling around on his back each morning after waking up.
