Pet's Story
Una, an 8-year old malmute/husky mix runs like the wind and is the world’s super duper sniffer! All this in spite of a prosthetic on one front leg and the loss of toes and pads on the other. On her collar is a bone-shaped tag with the words “love” and “courage” which aptly describe this sweetest and mellowest of doggies. Una knows what the prosthetic means to her, giving her the mobility to be a whole dog, and she has never, ever complained about putting it on every day. In fact, she has never caused any problem and has only the one demand of a biscuit before bed each night.

I tell her she is the prettiest dog in the world everyday and she is!
Una loves other dogs, cats, and people but sniffing takes precedence over all. She is fond of fawns, especially when they cavort and jump over and around her.

The Monarch Spur Trail is hers and she loves to greet other dogs on their walks when not sniffing. Una and I are best friends and family -- I follow her wherever the will takes her. Una is a happy, loving being and brings joy and meaning to my life!
