Pet's Story
Thumper is a Pom/Keeshond/Aussie mix that we adopted from ARF where he was being fostered. He was 16 months old in 2002. He will be 16 years old on July 4th this year. He has always been a feisty fun-loving spunky boy and loves jumping from
sofa to sofa and racing around the house. Four years ago he tore his ACL doing this and had three surgeries before having a successful one with screws and metal implants. Just recently he lost his eyesight and most of his hearing, but that doesn't stop him from jumping from furniture or stairs. (His nickname is now Peter Pan because he thinks he can fly.) He can no longer go for long walks so he gets to ride in a baby jogger most of the time. He has an adopted big sister, Lucy, who is 2 and a half and they are very bonded. We are planning a birthday party in the park with doggie ice cream for Thumper and his doggie friends in July. He is an ardent TV watcher, likes the Chihuahua movies, Animal Cops and Pit Bull and Parolees. He is my shadow and always by my side, and keeps me laughing all the time. I don't know what I would do without him!
