Pet's Story/Bio
Newman & Diego recently passed away this year, within 4 1/2 months of each other. Newman was 13, and Diego, 14, taken suddenly by cancer on June 26.

Both were rescues. Diego (right) travelled all the way from the beaches of Rosarito Beach, Mexico! I could not resist him as I found him looking for scraps as a 3 month old puppy, alone and scared. Newman joined our team 9 months later, and became Diego’s best friend immediately.

Diego & Newman were with me through a lot. My rocks. I am lost without them.

Newman was from a shelter in North Judson, Indiana, and delighted in playing ball, despite a leg injury suffered as a young dog. He also attempted to play frisbee, but we discovered it was not his strong suit, despite his efforts😊.
Newman had gumption, and was sassy, and could often be seen rolling on his back and kicking his little feet in the air with utter glee. When he got older, and had a hard time walking, he rode through the neighborhood in his wagon, and enjoyed smelling the breezes.

Diego was very sophisticated, and his favorite pastime was very clearly, gazing at his Mommy. The most adoring, intuitive dog ever, his loyalty and devotion is unparalleled. Diego delighted in licking Newman each night for at least 20 minutes, giving him the cleanest ears the vet had ever seen. Diego never met a person he didn’t like and was often referred to as “The Lick Monster.” Perhaps Diego’s most notable trait was his continual smile. After Newman passed, Diego became a big brother to new baby, BERT, where he provided leadership, until he also passed away.

We were the three amigos for sure, and it is safe to say that the thing we loved most was simply being together.

As Newman and Diego undertook their trips to heaven, I vowed to continue giving a home to as
many dogs in need as I can, in their honor.
