How pet came to live with you?
Sage is a one-year-old, light gray tabby rescue from the Johnston County Animal Protection League. She was adopted by parents Elizabeth and John as a companion for their nine-year-old cat, Willow. Sage is a sweet girl and deeply loved by our family.

Your pet’s favorite toys or things to do?
Sage loves to play with her big sister Willow, taking turns chasing each other through the house and playing with their many toys (they are admittedly quite spoiled). You can hear her throughout the house talking to her toys, trilling or chirping in excitement as she plays. In the mornings, Sage can be found by the window watching for her favorite bird, a wren. It seems they have struck up quite a friendship as the wren visits most every morning. Sunbathing is another favorite pastime she enjoys. She will curl up beside her big sister in a patch of warm sunlight and take naps. Lately, Sage has been on a diet because she loves her food a little too much. With extra playtime and plenty of exercise, she is slimming down to a healthy weight. She is truly a daddy’s girl and will meow for him if she loses sight of him for too long. While she is not a full-time lap kitty, she wastes no time climbing up into his lap when she wants ear scratches and snuggles.

Special Talents?
Sage has a curious talent for closing doors. By stretching up along the back of a door and leaning her weight forward, she pushes it shut. We don’t know why she does this, but she clearly seems to be amused and proud of her accomplishment. All doors have now been wedged open to prevent her from accidentally locking herself in.
