A little about me...
Hi there! This is Pookie. We adopted Pookie back in October from the AWLA when she was just 4 months old. When we first met Pookie, she was a jumpy, silly, playful ball of energy. We asked the staff at the AWLA what her story was, but the only things in her file is that she was transferred from a shelter in Texas and she was a little bit sick. She was just finishing treatment for a skin infection and a stomach bug from drinking bad water. This told us that her first couple of months of life were spent on the street. We are not completely sure what her breed is but based on color, face shape (ears), and spunky attitude, we guess that she is a German Shepard/Basenji mix. Sometimes she has a big dog attitude when in reality she stands just barely at our knees. Now, at a year old this month, Pookie loves to chew on bones,play fetch, meet new friends, and snuggle with her Mama and Baba. Thank you AWLA!
