A little about me...
I first saw Lucas on the AWLA website in fall 2024. I kept finding myself checking back in on his profile, each time falling more in love. I convinced myself if that he was still there by Christmas; he’s meant to be mine. When I checked the webpage on Dec. 23rd, he was gone and I was devastated. At the same time, I was also relieved someone had finally picked him up. On Dec. 26th I checked the website out of habit and there was my boy, returned to the shelter and without a home again. As soon as AWLA opened I was there. I felt like it was destiny. I was given another shot at adopting the happiest dog in the world.

George Lucas now lives in Groton, Connecticut. He loves long hikes, rubber piggies, sticks, beef rolls, and the occasional pup cup. He makes sure I get in my 10,000 steps a day, and never go without a cuddle buddy. He can’t go to the dog park without someone commenting on his curly tail and smile. Truly a handsome boy.

His favorite movie is Homeward Bound. With his love of food and goofy nature, he truly embodies Chance. Which is ironic to me, because I was the one given a second chance at adopting him.

Lucas visits NoVA often to see his cousins, Bean and Virginia (both of whom are also AWLA Alumni).
