A little about me...
Hi! I'm Apollo, an English shepherd who loves rolling in snow and swimming in creeks. I push my soccer ball down my special hill to watch it tumble and chase it. I know many, many, MANY words, including a 3-syllable one that sounds like "OH-YOO-TEE," which is what my owners say when trying to fool me with spelling magic. I love nosework, solving puzzles and brain games, talking buttons, and hunting bugs in the house. I'm learning to count on my abacus! Foxes tremble and wild rabbits flee at my mighty bellow. I've learned not be be scared of 101 things, though a few remain on my list. Aladdin, the camel who stays sometimes at George Washington's Mount Vernon, and his neighbors, those great, big ruby red Devon cattle, don't frighten me anymore. Mostly. Please, no fireworks this July for me! Or if you really, really, really must, ONLY on the Fourth, when I get my special medicine and try to stay asleep. It's hard for me to walk outside or even poop for weeks after I hear those explosions. Thanks for voting and supporting the shelter! Rescue dogs like me are amazing. My owners and I will always remember the brave, loving young woman who surrendered me and gave us all a better life. One day she will be ready to have her own forever dog, and it will be terrific for both of them. Love is the way forward. xxxoo, Apollo.
