Why My Hamster Is the Best

My hamster is the best hamster in the whole wide world! Her name is Lily Rose Austin and she is small and fluffy and soft like a cotton ball. She has tiny paws and her whiskers twitch when she eats. It’s soooo cute!

Lily is very smart. She knows how to escape from her cage (but I always catch her, don’t worry). One time she climbed all the way to the bathtub. She likes to climb on her house and sit on top like a queen. I think she likes magic.

She loves to burrow in the paper in her cage and make secret little hideouts. I think she’s building a hamster mansion underground. She even stores food in her hideouts like a squirrel! One time I found like twelve seeds, a chunk of carrot, and a whole bowl of food pellets in there. She’s like a food collector!

I also make mazes for her out of cardboard and blocks. She LOVES them. She runs through them super fast like she’s on a mission. Sometimes she even finds shortcuts I didn’t think of! I think she might be a genius.

The best part is that Lily always knows when I’m near. She pokes her little head out from her house just to look at me. Her nose wiggles and I know she’s saying “hi!” It makes me smile every single time.

She runs super fast on her wheel too. I think she’s training to be in the Hamster Olympics.

When I feel sad, I hold her in my hands and she makes me feel better. She squeaks like she’s saying, “It’s okay.” I think she loves me too.

Also, she eats carrots and little bits of apple, and she holds them like a human. It is SO ADORABLE I can’t even. One time she stuffed like ten sunflower seeds in her cheeks. TEN. Her cheeks got HUGE. I laughed for a million minutes.

That is why Lily is the best hamster in the whole universe.
