A little about me...
Hi. I'm Chester.

I'm a nine-pound Chihuahua Mix with very big feelings, and I live on King Street in Old Town Alexandria. I moved here in January, and I fell in love with this place right away — the cobblestones, the Potomac River, the people who stop to say hello on my walks.

I am launching a little newsletter called the @CobblestoneCorrespondent (IG). Every week, I share the best things happening around Northern Virginia, centered in Old Town, for everyone who sees the city from down low, like I do. It's my favorite job in the whole world.

At home, I live with two cats. They are not always nice to me, but I love them anyway. And every Saturday, I visit my favorite person at the Farmers Market — the man who sells the ham biscuits. He is, in my opinion, a hero.

This year, the AWLA turns eighty years old. For all that time, they have helped animals here in Alexandria find safe homes and full bellies. Some of them are still waiting for a person of their own. That's why this contest matters so much to me.

Every vote helps the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter take care of those animals. Every dollar does something good and real.

So here's my big ask, from one small dog: please vote for me to be Alexandria's 2027 Animal of the Year. I promise to make you proud — and I'll wear my very best outfit.
