A little about me...
This was a 'rescue' tortoise back in 1982. Someone left him with no note in a box with a blanket at the door of a pet store. We think he was about 25 years old then. He is an Eastern Hermann's tortoise, native to the Mediterranean area. He has been our family pet now for 44 years., so we think he is now about 70 years old. Two generations of children have grown up around him. He lives outdoors in the summer and indoors in the winter. He is gentle and friendly, but funny because he gets into trouble getting stuck in places and knocking over lamps and furniture. He weighs about 7 lbs and is 12 inches long. Any bigger and he would be a menace indoors with furniture!
