Monk is an English Cream Golden Retriever with a gentle spirit and the sweetest heart. Most days you can find him swimming laps, napping on his poolside throne or running zoomies through his backyard garden.

Though dignified in public, Monk is known in private society as a most devoted “Velcro” companion, rarely more than a step from those he loves and firmly convinced that all laps exist for his comfort. He shares his estate with his older Golden brother, Hurley, whom he adores yet gently torments.

Born on Breast Cancer Awareness Day, Monk came into our lives as a celebratory gift for completing chemotherapy and the beginning of a new chapter. He is a constant reminder that joy can bloom even in the hardest of seasons.

I’m royalty because…
Monk is the King of our hearts and he rules his coastal Carolina kingdom well. He greets everyone like an old friend, carries himself with quiet dignity, and believes every day is worth celebrating.

A true Southern gentleman at heart, Monk believes in porch naps, loyal companionship, and appreciating fine florals (perhaps a little too much.) He does have a known fondness for sampling his mama’s azaleas when no one is looking.

True royalty is not measured in pageantry alone. It is found in steady loyalty, in quiet watchfulness, and in a soft little head rested upon a knee when comfort is needed most. Monk rules not by command, but by devotion.

And should any doubt remain, one suspects Lady Whistledown herself would declare him the season’s most eligible noble.
