Tell us about your dog.
I fostered Vinny from the Humane Society of West Michigan (HSWM) little did I know that this beautiful blockhead would change my life for the better. Vinny had a rough start suffering from shelter stress also being dog reactive, he spent months at a different shelter before HSWM took him in. Due to his stress he did not do well in the main kennels, for 8 months he stayed between staff offices and isolation kennels until going into foster. I eventually let HSWM know that Vinny and I were adopting each other! He has taught me and others so much and opened my eyes to BSL/BDL and has inspired me to get more educated and involved on this issue. I created Grand Rapids Pitbull Alliance Advocacy Group and now work at HSWM continuing to learn more about canine behavior, training and advocating in our community, thank you Vinny!
