Jersey was a dog CAHS took in as a Dog Fighting Rescue Coalition Partner with the HSUS. She was one of 66 dogs seized in "Operation Grand Champion" a federal investigation spanning from NJ to NM.
When I saw photographs of dogs in preparation of selecting ones that would be a good fit for our shelter, I immediately noticed this senior girl. It was evident she had produced many litters and the significant scarring on her body and facial disfigurement broke my heart.
Shortly after arrival, it was discovered she was in kidney failure. Desperate to place her in a home as soon as possible where she would know what it meant to be loved, the HSUS helped by reaching out to their contacts. One of their own employees stepped forward to adopt her, she now lives out her days being loved and adored, as she should be.
