About Us
Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue Association is a primarily volunteer run, registered charitable organization and non-profit in Grande Prairie, Alberta. Our focus is to help injured, homeless, abandoned, or otherwise in need animals find permanent and loving homes. We are a foster focused rescue meaning that as many of our animals as possible are currently in foster homes, learning what it is like to be loved and cared for by a family before they find their forever homes.

Our mission is to not only better the lives of companion animals but to enrich the lives of humans as well.

We strive to help as many animals as possible and benefit the community in the process by encouraging positive interactions between humans and animals including responsible ownership, spay/neuter, vaccinating and microchipping.

Bandaged Paws Animal Rescue was founded in 2012 as a small volunteer run rescue with only 32 new animal intakes in the first year. Since then, while still being entirely volunteer run, we expanded our foster base to allow us to grow over the next 6 years, taking in 462 new animals in 2018.

In June 2019, we opened our safe haven facility. This facility has allowed us to increase our capacity and help even more animals in our community. Since moving into the facility, we have been able to take on over 3,800 animals and on average, we have 175-200 animals in our care at any given time.
