Your Pet's Story or Bio
Our Brynn came into our lives through the Animal Care Society. She was severely abused and removed from her owner because of it. This pretty girl stole our hearts as soon as we saw her picture on their website. We went to meet her and she was terrified, constantly shaking and cowering. We knew we could love her through her trauma, so we adopted her and brought her home 8 weeks ago.

The first week was hard. She wouldn’t eat, hid in her safe spot where she could survey her environment and know where all these “people” were. Slowly she began to eat. A few weeks in she got comfortable and brave getting up on the couch and our bed with us. She met Nemo, her doggie nephew, who was also a rescue from ACS. It was a little bumpy at first but now they can be in close contact without worry. We know they’ll be good buddies in time.

Our baby Brynn enjoys walks in our neighborhood (so long as others don’t get too close). She runs like a racehorse and flies around the backyard. She wakes in the morning jumps on our bed ready for lots of belly rubs and some play. Recently she’s gotten the zoomies in the evening and during her zoomies last night we heard her bark for the first time. Prior to that she would only whimper softly or growl if she felt threatened. She’s finding her voice and that makes our hearts swell with joy.

In the last two months she’s gone from a scared, fragile thing to a sweet, silly and stubborn puppy, our fur baby girl. She’s done well, even with obedience class at ACS with Meredith. You can tell Brynn is not 100% on board with the other dogs and people there, but she listens and responds well as she’s learning, as we are learning too.

We’ll forever be grateful for the Animal Care Society taking Brynn in, caring for her so tenderly until we came to take her home. The volunteers and staff are amazing and do such great work!!
