Toledo began life as a barn cat, just one of many at a large cat colony at a barn where we boarded our horses. Most of the cats there were feral and not friendly to humans. But this wee calico kitten craved human attention and affection, begging to be picked up and held. Knowing that the life of a barn cat is often abbreviated (whether due to disease, predation, or traffic accidents), we decided that this gorgeous cat needed to find a home of her own where she'd be safe to live out her days as a pampered pet. Not being cat owners, we thought we would get her vetted ourselves and then begin a search for her new family. We had plans.

Toledo had other plans.

She wormed her way into our hearts and decided that we didn't need to find her a new home because she'd already found one. With us.

And so began our lives as cat people. Toledo is simply a wonderful cat. And our lives have never been the same. Thank you for voting for Toledo.
