Pet's Story or Bio
Roar. A tiny plain brown tabby cat with a gigantic name. Why did we name her Roar? Because she reminded us of the MGM lion that roars at the beginning of movies. Only difference is that Roar's meows are silent.

Roar showed up one day, bedraggled and gaunt, at the barn where we were boarding our horses. She'd probably been dropped off in the country. Many cats suffer this fate when their people grow tired of them or when they become sick or old or too costly to care for. Roar was definitely a house cat in a previous life. She loved attention . Given the abbreviated life of a barn cat, we decided she was simply too small and too sweet to live the life of a barn cat in a structure battling an infestation of rats. The rats were nearly the size of her! So, with the permission of the property owner, we took Roar to a vet to have her vaccinated and spayed with the intention of finding her a home of her own. Surely we couldn't have another cat, could we? No, we were going to do a good deed and find her a home.

Roar had other plans.

She ended up staying with us. And in the 8 years she's been with us, always as the smallest animal in the house, she's never stepped a foot wrong. She asks only for a fleece blanket and laundry basket to sleep in. And a few cuddles and pats. She especially loves her chin scratched (which is what she's doing in this photo -- asking for a chin scratch). Then, she roars and walks away.

Thank you for voting for Roar.
