Black Bear Animal Rescue is a very small, rural rescue in the smallest county in TN. Unlike some regions of the country, the south is heavily over-populated with unwanted dogs and puppies. Our focus is on education, intervention, and rescue of these animals. There are many shelters in the south that euthanize for space. We work with fellow rescues and advocates to do our part in pulling, transporting, rescuing, and working toward eventual adoptions of as many of these animals as is possible.
We promote SPAY/NEUTER of all companion animals and as space and funds permit, we provide rescue as a safe haven for urgent at-risk dogs and puppies until approved forever homes are found.
