Miss Ellie is an alum of Carolina Basset Hound Rescue. She had been in several foster homes before us. She is a talker with lots of personality, so some other dogs felt bothered by her energy and whiney ways. We decided to take the plunge as we'd had 4 single Bassets when we lived in Central OH and thought we could handle her, as someone was always home to tend to her needs !! It wasn't easy--fortunately our male CBHR rescue allowed her to take over. A year ago, she went down in the rear after climbing up our front steps. Thanks to friends all over the country on the email blog, the Daily Drool, we were directed to the successful method of recovery and avoided surgery. Cool laser treatments--many at first but now just once a month. Basset owners rule !!
