A portrait of one of the poignant Stanley Park Mute Swans. Mute Swans were introduced to Lost Lagoon in the 1950’s. In the 1960’s they thrived however over time between people, bikes, off leash dogs and other natural fauna, eventually they just couldn’t live with us anymore. The surviving birds were finally relocated to a retreat in the Summer of 2016. Lost Lagoon isn’t the same without them, despite the fact we never should have put them there in the first place.
