Taken with an iPhone 5 on a break while cab driving. 8th of a series of 10. These owls regularly interact with people between downtown and James Bay. This particular owl identifies as an endangered Spotted Owl and gets triggered when it is misidentified as a Barred Owl. Patriarchal and pseudo-scientific methods of species identification, such as genetic markers, territory, and mating behaviour constitute violence against Spotted Owls and owls transitioning to spotted.
