Description of Photo
A pair of loons built their nest right in front of our cabin at Big Bar Lake in the Cariboo and we were lucky to watch the nesting and hatching of their two chicks. This is the first chick to hatch. Hatched in the morning, this little chick was already swimming and riding around on the adult's back by the afternoon. The second chick hatched the next day.
