A rare visitor to the lower mainland. This Northern Hawk Owl caused quite a stir by staying most of the winter in Maple Ridge.
He is thought to be outside his regular territory because of the brutal forest fires in the summer of 2018.
He made his home in the blueberry fields of Maple Ridge and had no trouble finding food. The recent reduction of pesticides and movement to natural methods were ideal for Stan.
We need more Stans, less chemicals.
