My name is Oakley and I was adopted from Above and Beyond English Setter Rescue. Above and Beyond English Setter Rescue saved me from the streets when I was abandoned by my previous owner. English Setters like me are often abandoned or put up for adoption due to our high energy levels or our inability to hunt up to our owner’s standards. A lot of people don’t know how loving and affectionate we can be once we get our energy out and how smart and helpful we are when we get the attention/training we need. I love this picture of me because it shows my beauty, but I think it is also important for people to see the fear and uncertainty in this photo and to know that it is something I deal with on a daily basis as a result of my abusive past with my previous owner.
