I relocated from Vancouver to Trail Mid May 2015. I had in my mind it was time to finally get another cat after my 18 yr. old fur baby passed who was the only cat I ever had which had been given to me by some friends. I started to look at the SPCA on line adopt a pet for Trail and surrounding areas,since I don't drive...Trail was the priority but I still looked at other locations. Had my eye on one but she was in Cranbrook I pretty much gave up on the idea when I decided to check on her to she if she was still available and then this lovely grey cat appeared the spitting image of my cat of 18 years. Her name was Schump. I found myself saying out loud OMG it is Mr. Schump! The even bigger surprise was that somehow I had wound up on the Trail SPCA site NOT the Cranbrook one! So we went to the SPCA the following morning to meet "Munchkin". Immediately that name I knew was just wrong for him. Soon as we met...he came right out to me from under the chair after he was let out of the cage...and I picked him up saying "Hi Mister" and we visited a while since the place was quite busy that day. I finally got the chance to say may I adopt Mister? They said you Mean Munchkin? No I mean Mister I said. They laughed and told me his short 9 month old story as I filled out adoption papers. After the whole process was done. We drove him home. We had to leave him alone in order to get all the needed items for my new fur baby.... Mister. It was tough to leave him alone knowing he would be so frightened. But we had to. So off we went and got all the things necessary to help me make Mister comfy and feel loved...along with the real needful things lol.
We got back after about 2 hours or so and with my heart racing...wondering what I was going to open the door to...I called out "Mister"!!!!! And I hear the LOOOONG Meow cry ...as he came running out from under the bed right to me! My girlfriend said right away "omg I can't believe he just did that!" Well I could. I knew the Universe had to have brought Mister and I together and we have been happily growing together ever since. He has grown into a big healthy content boy and his 2nd birthday is in August on my birthday as well. So every year will will be celebrating together *smiles*
