We found Faolan at an animal shelter in Vancouver. We were looking at some specific dogs we had seen on PetFinder when a staff member at the shelter asked us to take a look at Faolan. She had been brought into the shelter as a stray over Halloween and was looking very depressed. We couldn't imagine that no one had claimed her as she is beautiful, both inside and out. We visited her every day and took her out to play until we were able to adopt her from the shelter. We named her Faolan which means "little wolf" in Gaelic. She took some time to adjust to her new surroundings and seemed very sad for the first few days, but that did not last and she has become a wonderful, loving, if sometimes bossy, member of our family. Faolan still struggles with loud noises, especially around Halloween as many pets do. Having been a stray in Vancouver during that time so many years ago must have been terrifying. We can't even imagine how frightened she would have been, outside and alone in those conditions. We are so lucky that she was rescued from the streets and that we were able to adopt such a beautiful companion. Faolan participates in the BCSPCA Paws for a Cause Walk every year to support all the other critters that need help as she did.
