When Gracie came into my life, I couldn't have imagined how rich my life would become with her in it. I gave my heart to her the moment she walked towards me and I saw those beautiful soulful eyes. I was elated that she picked me and was eager to share my life with her.
We spent a lot of time together, first going to puppy classes, obedience training, and playing games of hide and seek. We continued to have fun exploring, going for long walks, playing in the park and swimming in the ocean or nearby water. She especially loved to be at the beach digging in the sand and retrieving her favorite toy.
Each day brought a new adventure and a deepening of our bond. We understood each other as only those who have experienced such unconditional love, dedication and loyalty. We were there for each other thick and thin and through life’s happy and challenging times.
Gracie was my greatest teacher, confidant, love and inspiration
She taught me about unconditional love and support.
She taught me to be always in the present moment and to be fully engage in whatever I was doing.
She taught me to be adventurous and curious, re- discovering my true passion.
She reminded me to enjoy the small things in life and to be happy.
She taught me to believe in myself and to trust my instincts as well as hers!
She taught me patience and persistence
And as we said our final good-byes, Gracie continued to teach me about Love, Grace, Strength and Courage.
I couldn’t foresee on the day that I fell in love with her, the depth at which she would break my heart when I would have to say good bye to her, 13 + years later.
Gracie you have made an indelible impression on my life that will remain with me forever. I am eternally grateful for our time together and all your teachings. I love you Gracie xoxo R.I.P. Dec 28, 2002 – Mar 28 2016.
