Suka is a beautiful mixed-breed dog who came into our lives from the Victoria BC SPCA in January 2012, when she was just eight weeks old. She was rescued, along with forty other dogs, from a life of confinement, neglect, overcrowding, disease, and starvation.

Since her adoption, Suka has completed high-level obedience and agility training, volunteered as a therapy pet for the ill and elderly, and worked as a sniffer dog (in medicine and conservation) for canine research programs in Nova Scotia.

Suka is a sweet and well-mannered dog, whose intelligence and temperament charms everyone she meets. She loves all people, but she has a special love for children. She is playful and enthusiastic, loves to swim and play fetch, and is content to spend hours in the great outdoors, following her nose to discover invisible truths about the world.

Suka is more than just a companion - she is one of the greatest joys of my life. I am grateful to the BC SPCA every day for bringing us together.
