Meet Dio, he is an Elkhound Husky cross, we think he represents all that the SPCA is...Dio was seen in the Kamloops area 6 years ago alone, neglected and ill. After a few days trying a very kind person persuaded him to come with her and was brought to the SPCA where he was brought back to health over the next few months, all he needed was a chance.
He became their longest standing resident probably because he looked a little rough, but they didn't give up on him...they just don't do that at the SPCA.
We met Dio on a Sunday afternoon...the shelter was closed but of course the great staff there saw a chance to have him adopted and came in to give it a try....we knew right away this was our guy, he came home to Salmon Arm right then and there and after his first car ride and first swim in the lake he was at home...finally
Dio has a beautiful soul, everyone he meets can see it immediately, he loves to meet people and animals alike and the last 6 yrs has been a wonderful journey together, we can't thank the SPCA enough for this gift of caring and love.
