Nola is a Boxer Pitt Bull. We adopted her from the Nanaimo SPCA in September 2016. When we met Nola, it was the day she got her cone off after having her back leg amputated. Only Nola knows for sure what tragedy she experienced that led to her losing her leg. When her foster family brought her in, she approached us with such love and affection, and immediately snuggled in between our legs. She didn't move except to reach up for treats. We all knew immediately she was perfect for us! But it wasn't up to us, it was up to Nola. And thank goodness she chose us as her forever home. Nola quickly became an integral member of our family. She even got our cats FeeBee and Walter to warm up to her. Upon first glance you would never know she only has 3 legs. Nola runs circles around her dog friends And greets every person and animal with a big smile. She loves to bury bones and helps carry in firewood., sometimes she decides to run around the yard with the firewood 😉 . Nola has taught herself to stand up on her one back leg. Although brief, She balances on her one leg and shakes our hand when we come in the door. Nola has enriched our lives in ways we never imagined. She keeps us active and on our toes and we feel blessed to have her in our lives.
