Bio
I occasionally walk dogs at the Shuswap Branch. In October of 2015 the SPCA brought in a bunch of dogs and pups through a rescue group in Northern Saskatchewan. As there were too many of these dogs running wild and causing problems in this northern community they were destined to be culled. Most of them got adopted quickly but my Betsy was one of the last ones. She had a dull thin and scraggly coat, was skinny, shy, and of course full of worms. We had lost our lab a year previously and were on the look out for a new buddy for us and our other dog. She fit the bill. I took her home to foster and see if she would be a good fit. It only took a couple hours and we were in love. She had never been in a house so all the noises were new. She was transfixed by the T.V.! Well it has now been over a year and I have to say she Is a constant source of joy for us. She jumps into bed with us every morning and snuggles in for her tummy rubs. She keeps a close eye on my chickens and keeps the mouse population down in the fields for us. She is still a little shy of men or anyone carrying large objects but she is getting braver every day. Most everyone that meets her likes her, remark on how beautiful she is and quite a few have exclaimed they want a "Betsy" dog! She keeps our other dog, Gracie in shape by forcing her to play tag and they have become fast friends. Overall, she is the perfect dog for us and we can't imagine our life without her!
