Bio
Hank was adopted from my niece in Edmonton and was flown out to Comox where I picked him up and brought him home to Texada Island where he lived most of his life. He was an immediate presence in our family, sharing his life with my husband myself, our two kids, two cats and one other dog, Abby, a Shepard cross. He loved to wander, nose to the ground, and met many neighbors during times he escaped his yard but never got into trouble - thankfully. In his senior years we moved to Powell River where he became a bit of a celebrity, having people stop us to greet him and ask about him. His health was great for the most part but as he approached his 12th year, he suddenly experienced a series of seizures. Taking him to the Vet I feared he may not go home again and unfortunately I was right. The vet thinks he had a cancerous tumor in his brain and caused the seizures which only worsened. The kindest thing to end his suffering was also the hardest thing to do but in the end as peace enveloped his face, we knew it was the right thing to do. We took him to Texada Island where most of his days were spent, and laid him to rest. What a void it has been without him and after less than a week we still find ourselves mourning. We know one day we will be ready to open our hearts and adopt another fur kid to join our family.
