Bio Jack is a Norwegian Forrest cat and has just turned 14 yrs. old. He adopted us 13 yrs. ago and has also endeared himself to many neighbors. A few years ago, Jack disappeared and 10 days later I called the SPCA. Sure enough he was there waiting to come home. He did have an ear tattoo but it was still recorded to his previous owner. Now the SPCA has the correct information!
When Jack moved in, we had a beautiful orange tabby. Jack always respected him as the senior cat and didn't move up to the top perch on the cat tree until our tabby passed away. We also had two large dogs and despite teasing them by taking swipes at there thighs as they ran past, he would curl up to nap together.
Four years ago my husband suddenly passed away and Jack is a loving companion for me. I know he enjoys the attention he gets!
His handsome blue and white collar is new and keeps a feeding tube in place. Jack had been a very active cat so it was a shock when he suddenly curled up on the floor and wouldn't eat or drink. Three days in the emergency animal hospital revealed some heart damage, a liver problem from not eating, and an infected kidney. He surprised us all by pulling through, however he needed a feeding tube to get enough food to keep the liver healthy.
With his heart declining and his kidney starting to fail, I really value the time we have left. He has slowed down but is almost back to his normal activities. His only sad moments are not being allowed to go out to visit his friends! Whether he has one more day or month or year, Jack and I intend to keep our time together "special".
We entered the SPCA calendar contest last year and are pleased to enter once more to raise funds to help care for all animals.
