Bio
Manny was surrendered to the BCSPCA - Quesnel Branch because his (third) family couldn't cope with his allergies. His (second) family rescued him from amateur breeders when he was 5 weeks old, and rehomed him because of a difficult pregnancy. His (first) family killed his mother when he was 4 weeks, and placed him on adult, generic kibble. He was found hairless and malnourished by his rescuers.
Drives for Lives brought him to Vancouver, and after 1 visit I fell in love with his calm energy. In the 7 months since I adopted him, he's become an integral part of my life. We've had ferry trips, toured Squamish, done obedience training, agility classes, and now he is on Level TWO of nosework classes. He's so smart.

He sleeps late, waiting for me to get his breakfast ready. He takes up half the couch but never goes on it unless I'm there as well (except if I'm not home! That sneaky devil!). He loves everyone he meets and often surprises strangers along the seawall by jumping onto their bench and trying to take over their laps. He's about 80 pounds now, but that has never stopped him from trying to sit/lie on people. He also LOVES car rides, riding shotgun with me with the window rolled right down so he can smell all the new smells in the wind.

He's an American Staffordshire Terrier/American Bulldog cross and sometimes his resemblance to a "pit-bull" frightens people, and makes them nervous. When given the chance, though, his good-natured, affection seeking temperament will melt all fears away and (hopefully) open hearts to those of a much maligned breed.
