Margarita is our 5 year old American Cocker Spaniel. My husband, Larry, has Type 1 Diabetes and no longer recognizes low blood sugars and therefore insulin shock. Margarita is very tuned in to his condition and fusses when he has low "sugars". She quite often is on board before I am. She recently persistently rang her "bell to go outside" - until she woke me, as Larry had become non responsive. Together, she and I were able to get Larry back on track. When Larry isn't feeling well, she joins him on his big chair for much needed comfort. Margarita was a gift from our kids, shortly after my husband had been extremely ill with TB Meningitis, and she has provided the best therapy ever. Margarita is the center of attention in our world. She spends her time helping us with all our chores including having a nap. She is a faithful and loyal beautiful girl. Margarita is our hero and our best friend.
