A cat fancier friend of mine saw this cat up for adoption at Oly's pet supply store in Chilliwack and asked me to come down and adopt her. We had previously discussed the possibility of me having a cat , but now my friend was trying to make it a reality. I had never had a cat before,only dogs. So I went and had a look at her and fell in love instantly! She is beautiful! But will she be okay with dogs? At the time a young man was in the store with his dog so I asked him to bring it by the pen where the cat was. He obliged and the cat just sat there looking at this excited young pup jumping up and panting heavily, all the while , the cat just sat there and didn't flinch! I put in my application and brought Camira home the next day! My friend came over and showed me how to set things up for Camira, food and water up where the dogs couldn't go and to pull the couch out from the wall just a bit so she would have a place to go if things got intense. You see , my dogs never had a cat before either and I was concerned for her safety. I put a baby gate up also to help create a safe space, and the litter box was blocked off from the dogs by a cardboard wall with a cat door. If there was ever a purrfect cat for a first time cat guardian , that is Camira! She can do no wrong! You just look at her and she starts to purr! She taught the dogs to have cat manners and since has trained a couple of puppies to respect a cat! She is never chased or pounced on and she always maintains her composure! Since her arrival a few years ago, two more cats have come to stay.! Camira helped to teach them the ropes as well!
