BioI adopted Isabella back in October 2016. After my cat Millie passed away at 16 and a half years in the summer, I knew eventually I would get another cat, but I just didn't know when. Then in October I saw Isabella on the Burnaby SPCA website and I just knew she was the one. When I saw her at the SPCA and held her, she cuddled and purred right away. My mom was with me and she did the same with my mom. She had a wound on the back of her neck, but it was wrapped up. We brought her home and everyone in my family, niece, nephew and brother absolutely adored her. Because of the wound we fostered her first as her wound had to heal first. She ended up having surgery on it as it didn't heal as it should have. And because she kept scratching that area and other places like her face and her chin area, more that a normal scratch, we figured she might have a food allergy. We put her on hypoallergenic dry food and after about 8 weeks she got better. She does still scratch, but not like she used to. It's more of a learned habit. We do have to clip her back paw claws as they are really sharp. But she is an indoor cat and I did go to our vet to have them teach me how to do it as I have never had to clip cats claws before. I don't have to clip her front paws. Isabella is a part of our family and we are so happy that she is.
