BioMy Babe was adopted from a California kill shelter but her kitty friends are all adopted from the BCSPCA. They are Peaches (Orange) Sydney (Grey) and Tianna (White). They are our furbaby family and they all get along together living in harmony.
When we adopted Babe, she was shutting down at the shelter. She had her face in the corner of the kennel and wouldn't turn around until I talked to her for some time. When she finally did, she came over to the wire, close to me. I was kneeling down to talk to her, with my hands on the wire. She put her paw on my hand and that was it for me! We had a volunteer take her to the play area for a meet and greet and it was true love. She gave my daughter kisses, she was so happy. She jumped on the bench next to me, like we were long time friends who are now getting acquainted again. That was the beginning of our friendship together and it has been an amazing friendship.
Babe is now approximately 4 years old. She's a Staffordshire, Sharpei cross. She's very loving and takes care of my 14 year old daughter as if she's her own pup. Babe loves going for walks on the Beach and along the Channel here in Penticton. She loves everyone she meets. Her favorite thing I think though, is cuddling up on the couch, when my daughter and myself are watching a movie!
Our three kitties are now her step sisters. Peaches is the ambassador of our kitty group. She was our first adoption from the SPCA here and she's an incredible little girl. When we adopted Sydney and Tianna, they were still young kitties of about 6 months old. Sydney was very shy and Tianna, well, she was terrified of anything new. A few days went by and Sydney came around, looking for petting and reassurance. Tianna remained hidden. Then Peaches took her under her wing. She showed her that we were OK creatures to hang out with and that we gave out pretty good rubs and pets. Soon Tianna followed Peaches out from under our furniture! Now she's a cuddlebug, like all the rest of the crew. It's amazing what a little love and patience can do. We love our furbaby family and the SPCA has been wonderful. Thank you to all of them for caring for the animals!
