Lulu was born June 30 2005 in Fort Good Hope just north of the Arctic Circle. She was rescued by the public health nurse from an intentional drowning along with her mother and 6 siblings. There were 5 males and 2 females. They were flown down to the island at 1 week old and fostered with Animals for Life from where we adopted her. Her mother was a border collie cross and father was a "big black dog" although from her markings I think it might have been a Malamute or McKenzie River Husky. She has a very strong independent streak and was a challenge to train as a pup but turned into a wonderful pet.
