Entrant's First NamePrince
BioPrince has been with us for almost 10 years now. He was found on a highway up north in the middle of the night in a snow storm. His rescuer tried to get him a few times but he crossed the medium and fan off into traffic, thankfully he didn't get very far before he was caught. He wasn't in good shape either, mites, ticks, ear and teeth infections, 20 lbs underweight and petrofied. He was given to us after I was forwarded an email with a picture of him and I absolutely fell in love. When we recieved him neither myself or my boyfriend knew what we were getting ourselves into, now I say patience is key but before i had never experienced a rescue dog (now I'd never have it any other way) but he quivered in a corner for 3 days and barely ate. We had a good productive first 4 days with him until one night on a walk he slipped out of his colar and ran off. I was devastated, and so guilty that I disorientrd him and he no longer had his safe place to go, he was brand new to the area, freshly shaved and it was freezing out. I called off work for the next 5 days determined to find my dog. I called every newspaper and radio station, put up posters everywhere I could and gave to whomever I could, went to all the spcas daily..no sign. I got calls from concerned neighbours and even strangers telling me they were out looking and offering support, it was pretty amazing to see a community come together for the sake of animal welfare. But on the 5th day I got a call. The minute my phone rang I had a good feeling. A woman about 500 km away had found him the night before in her backyard lying in his own urine to keep warm. This woman's boyfriend was out walking Prince and someone I had given a poster too saw them and approached him and explained someone was frantically looking for the dog and gave him my number. I remember exactly it was Feb 12th 2008, 7am she called me and I was there within mins to pick him up. Even though it had only been 4 days he was with us he was so happy to see my boyfriend and I. Most people say it was meant to be, I defenitly agree :)
