Bio
Gunner spent months at the Sunshine Coast SPCA recovering from symptoms of neglect including malnutrition, kennel cough and distemper made him blind. Gunner was under 1 when we adopted him. Good thing I was very pregnant and prepared with baby gates. My sons and Gunner have grown together and help each other in so many ways. Despite his blindness Gunner is a true fearless protector treeing 6 bears one summer causing us an expensive vet bill. No. No injuries but we took him to the veterinary ophthalmologist because this unstoppable fur ball acted every way but blind!! People often say they don't want rescue dogs for their issues but the issues are human and Gunner didn't care about his past traumas and fully embraced his new life and family! Our other SPCA dog Scout and him are bonded and take turns sleeping with our sons. Gunner is a gentle giant with our rescue cats nurturing and loving them all. Sometimes a little too much😛 When Gunner isn't running wild in the woods or at the beach, he is guarding our yard. People in our neighbourhood don't know our human names, we are just Gunners owners to many who stop to chat and give him treats as they pass by. He is 12 now and going strong! Well maybe he won't be treeing any bears this year but he still looks majestic and strong. Gunner over came his rough start and is a true rags to riches rescue. I think he has inspired people to adopt not shop by being such a treasure!
