Bio
Ernie, on the left, we found in our back yard. Someone had stuck him in the lumber for our new fence and then covered him up. We herd him squeaking when we started work after our lunch break. He was about 6 weeks old. Bert, the little black one, was about five months old when I found him at the park limping and looking mangy . He had broken bones in his foot from an injury that was at least a month old and had not been treated. Katie, the 'Labish' dog, found me at work. She had been burned and had an open wound about 10x14 inches on he back and burns near her ears and in ear ears. After taking her to the vet we did find her owners but they were not able to care for her injuries but where willing to let me. It took almost a year of painful treatments but once she was healed she was a happy and wonderful dog with a furless and scared back and her previous owners let us keep her :)!! Fayne, the grey dog, is a Koolie and was imported to Canada from Australia. Her owners moved to the Malaysia and left her with relatives who did not have a fenced yard. Being a social butterfly she was always off making friends with people and dogs. The day I went to the animal shelter/ pound in Smithers, to get my first dog as an adult, was the same day her people had decided that they where not going to pay the fines and pick her up for the fifth time. I think I am the luckiest dog owner to have found and been able to adopt 4 such terrific dogs. And last but not least is Brynna the cat who was the dogs boss! She arrived at my screen door one evening. I was living way out of town with only a ranch for neighbours, I t was a very cold night, well below zero, and this little cat was scratching and meowing to be let in. I thought she might be a barn cat from the neighbours who got lost. I cautiously opened the door and put out some food. She seemed to friendly for a barn cat so I let her in. Tne dogs came over to great her and she gave them that cat look "I'll be friends as long as you remeber I am the boss!" Then she saw my cat on the couch and went over and climbed up and snuggled down next to her. No one can figure out where she came from or how she got there but she is the gentlest cat I have ever met but she must use some jedi mind trick on the dogs because she can boss them around with a look! I am sure glad Brynna adopted me.
