I wandered into the New West Shelter one day. Having recently lost our 9 year old Golden Retriever Jake, I was sad. I walked into the cat room and saw the cats lazing in the cubbies. I looked around and saw this little black cat in a cage with a note that she had gastro problems and he wasn't allowed out. She reached out of the cage with both her paws purring, meowing and reaching for me. I left that day and thought about this little girl. I thought about her all week and returned the next weekend. This time, she came out of the cage and I put her on a scratching post (she wasn't allowed down in case she ate the other food that she couldn't have). This little girl climbed up my chest, purring, rubbing my chin, drooling! I thought, I've been chosen! Now to convince my grieving husband that she belonged in our home - that was not very difficult! The next day, Lucy came home and I will forever tell everyone that I LOVE MY CAT! She is 10 years old, has never had any problems with her tummy. She is still my kitten. Always take a chance on the ones that that seem to have problems. Because in the end, they are not a problem at all! I love my cat. Lucy Goosey.
