Animal BioOscar had been abandoned and was found on the brink of starvation. Our Veterinarian estimated Oscar to be approximately five years old when he was brought in for his first health check, teeth cleaning, shots and neutering. He is a 'tweenie' dachshund (between a miniature and a standard). He is a smooth coated grey dapple with black and tan 'points' and weighs about 14 - 15 pounds. I fell in love with Oscar at first sight. My daughter and I were at the Quesnel Fall Fair where our local SPCA had set up an information booth. Handlers were on site with some of the animals being offered for adoption. It had been over two years since my last furbaby had crossed the Rainbow Bridge. His loss had been very difficult for me and I wasn't looking for another dog. My daughter spotted Oscar and called me over - our eyes met and I just knew we had to be together. That was almost 4 years ago and we are inseparable. Oscar has my heart! He loves new squeaky toys and won't rest until the squeaker is found and destroyed. He loves to play fetch, tug-o-war and hide & seek. He adores sleeping under the covers in the waterbed every night and during the day too, if he manages to sneak into the bedroom. He has the entire family wrapped firmly around his stubby little paws. I thank God for him every day and he will NEVER be hungry again!
