Animal Bio
Callie (formerly Bonnie) was one of the Surrey 57 seized from a hoarder in August 2015. After recently losing my lab/collie, Jake, I fell in love with her bio after reading about it on the BC SPCA website and knew that I had to meet her!

When I went to see her at the West Van branch, she was scared of people and very skiddish. I took her for a walk around the branch’s building and eventually sat on the grass with her. I remember thinking what a terrible life she must have had... to be locked in a cage, with little to no human contact.

One of the people who worked there told me that dalmatians need lots of exercise and attention... I decided right then that I had to do whatever I could to give her a good life.

I brought her home and she was a couch potato. She loved being close to me and lazing around. She loved her walks and would eat anything and everything if you let her. She gradually has worked herself out of that quiet, skiddish shell she used to wear. She is bossy, loving, and very much a part of my family. She makes everyday better with her funny antics and goofy facial expressions!

The picture I am submitting is of her and her dog sister, Ella. They literally stayed like that in the car for 20 minutes. And I’m not even kidding.
