Entrant's First NameSarah
Animal BioThe first time I saw this girl's face on a rescue site her eyes bored directly into my soul and I fell in love. At 7 years old she was dumped unceremoniously out of a vehicle at the end of a dead end road in Guanajuato Mexico. As she stood looking after the vehicle, a kind person saw her and contacted Mex-Can Pet Partners who took her in.
We have no idea what she endured her first 7 years of life, or what she endured to create a large half inch scar around the back part of her neck, but from the moment I picked her up at the airport in Victoria it just felt like she was just meant to be with me.
This girl is so filled with unconditional love and she is always happy. Nothing phases this sweetheart! She has the patience of a saint with the many foster pups who have come through our door on their way to furever homes...never a cross word from her no matter how much they pester her to play. Maisy just looks at them, sighs and carries on being her adorable self. It is no wonder they all love her!
She fills my life with constant love and magical Labrador fibers! She's getting a little older now and can't make the long walks she used to, but she still loves the outdoors or anywhere really as long as she knows her person is there.
She has taught me to slow down, to care more deeply and, to be more patient and kind. The lessons she gives me every single day are lessons we could all use; to find joy in the simple things; to smile just because, to take time to explore nature and that naps are the very best thing in the world next to a ball or a really good meal!
She models the best of what life can be if you just slow down and love. She is an inspiration and is truly my heroine.
